No Messin' is a bakery inspired by a love of Nordic and traditional Irish baking. They produce a range of baked goods rooted in fresh, seasonal produce sourced locally. Art Dept collaborated with owner Niall to develop the brand identity, packaging, and social media.

When we decided to work with Art Dept it was crucial to create a dynamic brand that reflected our core philosophy of ‘fresh and seasonal’. Their full-suite approach allowed us to incorporate illustration, photography and asset production into our brand extremely easily. This 360 degree approach was essential to us having such a strong brand identity.

Niall Wynn, Owner

It was vitally important for us to have a strong digital presence and have tangible assets like our pastry bag, because we don’t actually have a bricks and mortar bakery that people can visit. Having these touch-points, and a social media strategy that’s dynamic and can adapt to seasonal changes, was crucial for telling our story and connecting with our customers.

Project Information

We worked closely with owner Niall to create a fun, hard-working identity designed for social media and aimed at urban professionals and food lovers. We delivered the full design suite, including logo, branding, packaging, documentation and social media assets.

Central to the N.M’ brand is its mascot, Frank — a put-upon local salaryman often late, in trouble or harassed by animals. Illustrated by Melbourne-based Hayden Daniel, Frank quickly became a customer favourite and a regular feature on Instagram.

The wider brand remains simple, letting the product take centre stage. N.M’s USP is its use of fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced locally, captured through photography by Al Higgins of supplier farms, behind-the-scenes bakery moments and the pastries themselves. A constantly updated image bank keeps social feeds fresh and engaging.
